The purpose of this project was to allow Dell Technologies to give prospective business clients a virtual tour through one of their manufacturing factories, to display the offerings they can bring as a potential supplier. This web application revolved around having multiple navigable stops on the tour, whereby each stop represented a room in the factory and the service purpose of that space.
A key requirement for Dell here was the security of who could access the tour. We catered for this by designing a one-time password (OTP) system, that only allowed members with a specific official Dell email domain, to sign in. Logged in users were then automatically timed out after inactivity or a prolonged time period, to ensure confidentiality of data.
This design of virtual tour has been reused a number of times to cater for a variety of Dell Technologies’ large-scale facilities across the world.
